Drove the Chevbucket to the Langford car show a couple of weeks ago. Brakes are working really good no more pulling to the right when braking hard.
Indeed Mike, she is a neat little hot rod! Still shakin' my head that the second owner trailered her to car shows without the engine running... An unusual and very interesting history on this rod.
Another Lucas commercial Distributor. Just spotted one in a thread on Fordbarn. Nice work. I'd lose the red plastic horn, and maybe reposition the solenoid. Decluttering a nice simple car like this goes a long way in the looks department. Less is more. Was there a reason to route all the plug wires up the driver's side? One of the neat things about the Lucas distributor cap is that all the wires come out of the correct side. No crossovers required. None of the above should be viewed as a criticism in any way. Mart.
Hi Mart, thanks for your interest in the Chevbucket. I guess I was thinking I needed a clear view of the distributor so I could advance or retard it not much room there after the rad and fan are installed.
Mart... the dual 6 volt horns (made in France) are staying where they are. I think they look good with the red wheels!
Bob, my neighbour next door gave me this cool T-shirt today. Bob bought the car from the third owner in 2004. I bought it from him Sept. 2013.
The Chevbucket showing off all it's red accessories... wheels, horns, fan, shifter knob, carpet, oil breather,Chev logo, rad overflow tank.
I would for sure keep those horns they do look cool. Also notice that you are parked next to the Bloody Mary at the Wednesday night deal. Looks like both of you are keeping cool company...
John did a lot of work on resurrecting the Bloody Mary. He put in endless hours with the owner Keith to get that one back on the road. Enjoy the Chevbucket this year, John!
Just a thought here.Be careful of those type steering wheels.Wednesday coming home hit a rough patch of pavement and two of the spokes detached from the rim.NOT good.My wheel was about 15 or so years old.Talk about shit welds. This wheel had them.No penetration, and only about a bit over 1/16 inch wide. And only along the top of the material joint. It is repairable. So when I get a chance to remove the wood trim I will have it miged or tiged back together.Damn near needed a change of wardrobe when I got home. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
