A little update....in 1941 the push car they used at the lakes was a year old 40 Ford, that car got rolled and smashed up pretty good, so they pulled the engine, trans, steering column, ect, and put it in the roadster in 41...
I talked to this guy about his car about 8 months ago or so. He as selling a 3 window. He sad come and check out his roadster then I lost his number. Funny I stumbled across this.
If I owned that thing I would drive it everyday. It's perfect. Wish I had a blank check to hand the owner.
I never get tired of El Mirage Dry Lake. Besides running like a bat out of hell, you see cars you never see any where else. The lake bed looks the same today as it does in the photos, dirty, cold/hot, and windy. Thankfully the environment keeps out the billet, gold chain wearing, street rod crowd in their Easter egg colored cars.
What a cool car...perfect in every way. Since it's been hinted at in this thread...is he trying to sell it? Sam
