IMAG0482_1.jpg IMAG0467.jpg IMAG0466.jpg So I'm over at one of my buddy's shop, talking cars, looking at various old parts, and generally just hanging out, I ask if he's still got that old dry lakes car, he say yeah, you wanna see it? Of course I do, so we head over to one of his small garages, and there is was. Here's some shots of the car back in the day, and shots of now..thought I'd share..

Thanks for posting. Is it the same car as in the picture (bronze car)?

e z i - Great looking car. It is amazing that it has survived intact this long.

  7. So, how old is your friend/ How old are the pics of the lakes car? Very interesting. They're still out there. Hope you can get some pics of it out doors. Thanks for posting. Tim

I'm kinda fuzzy on the details, so I don't want to add things about the car that are incorrect, but my buddy bought the car in northern California from the old guy that owned and raced it back in the day. I'll get more details and post them.

Interesting to see a windshield wiper mounted on the bottom of a Deuce windshield.

Great to see an other survivor. Interesting that it has a 3 on the tree and not the "I got to have a 39 top loader".

Yeah, there was a point in the post-war era where having a column shift was seen as being a more modern upgrade from a floor shift. This was before the mid '50's when the after market started to supply the conversion shifters for the side shift trans cases, so a hot rodder could bang gears on the floor again! K6

His plan is to let it sit right where it is, or sell it..

  28. Very cool old car.

So what is the story on it, its just going to sit there and languish away or it gets driven or??? Just curious now that you have brought it up.

Thanks for these pictures. They are a treasure trove for anyone building a truly traditional hot rod.

No, it's not languishing, he does drive now and then, but with the car being what it is, he doesn't like to risk it to often I guess? Plus he has a lot of other cars he likes to take out and drive the hell out of..
