I just found this today, going through the atic. This is an Eelco fuel shutoff, that was on a Junior Fuel car in the mid 60's. Ed
I have a couple of Eelco tanks. I have a 3.5 gallon one sitting in the front of my 55 filled with methanol. I really like they way they shine up, unlike the Moon tanks. I also have a really nice gas pedal.
I would think that anyone who was a real collector this would be the cool as shit piece de resistance to the collection. i thought about posting it here, but then know some people like to rank on about egay. can be bothered saving the pic so heres the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...RK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=230057446863&rd=1,1
oh yeah.... I forgot.. I have a 4x2 Olds intake off an old race car... it's got all Eelco linkage and the idle screws even say "EELCO" on them.
The real esoteric Eelco stuff includes the drink coasters, tie tacks and cuff links Els handed out at the early SEMA shows in Dodger Stadium and then the Anaheim Convention center. I threw stuff like that away everytime I moved! Only thing left is a tie tack.
I have a lot of old stuff like a tank with brackets and a guage panel with guages and a few of the new things and I hope to find some more. Cool thread.
My dad has wanted one of those jet plates for a while. He has a couple NOS panels still in the eelco packaging. His A has a 10 gallon moon tank in the trunk, the 90 degree fitting in the bottom has the eelco logo on the side, pretty cool.
I have a tank (but no brackets) and some huge waterslide feet decals. Really need some brackets and I'd love a hand pump of some variety.
I have an old automatic shifter that has about a 12" round stick and a metal shift knob. Has the little feet and eelco on the shifter base. Had it since the 60"s.
I can't remember the magazine, this was about 1 year ago. they took an NOS eelco tank with the sticker on it in very nice condition and used it as an example of how to polish aluminum. showed you how to get thet pesky sticker off too. bunch of dumbasses... who was that?
yeh i still got some NOS eelco stuff still in the orig wrappers the packages are cool will be e-baying some soon
Got an identical tank, less decals. Looking for brackets too, if you find any extras, please let me know. Sure would be nice if someone could post pics of the brackets for possible fabrication of duplicates. Mine still has the original Ellco spec tag on it.
I think they are repoping the brackets, but the ones I've seen are not correct. Here are originals. I did put black tubing over the U bolts. The original tubing is clear I believe.
Here are some generic brackets I made. I've made a few sets for tanks bought without brkts. I'm too much of a cheapass to buy the ones I really want.
