Hot Rods Old Crow belly tank Bonneville trip (3 new records)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kiwi Kev, Aug 25, 2008.

  1. The highlight of the trip for Lucky and Bobby was meeting tank racing legend and pioneer Bill Burke. What a great guy. Great memory, great sense of humor. Real nice man. Lucky and Bobby would have happily made the 11 hour trip just to meet Bill. Turns out he only lives about 15 minutes away from their shop.

Bill sure liked Coby's Church magazine.

It was great to meet all of you guys and help out with that bottle of Old Crow. I blamed my hangover, the next day, on Lucky!

    Congrats on the records!

Thanks for the report. Great stuff!

Congrats to the "Crows". There whole deal is simply toooooo cool. Loved the mist machine and the bolt-on fenders. That kind of thinking is the true essence of a genuine hot rodding attitude in my book. And, they obviously had a hell of a lot of fun along the way to success.

Best of all, I finally feel like I got my money's worth out of the T-shirt I bought. (-:

I'm so proud of you guys. It is truly an accomplishment just to race at Bonneville- lead alone 'borrow' records!

I'm glad I was there to see you run and help celebrate the record! :D

Here's an interesting building for fans of architecture, we saw it in Ely Neada on the trip home. The tiny rooms and naked lady stained glass seemed a little ...different. Turns out it's the first purpose built brothel. 1908. (no longer in use)

AM I READING THE BOTTLE ON THE RIGHT? It looks like it says 164 MPH...

CONGRATS GUYS... it's awesome to see people work hard, exceed their goals and have a heck of a time doing it!

Great pics and commentary Kev. (don't forget to send me the good pics);)
It was an honor to give some East Coast S.F.C.C. assistance to your Old Crow tradition.
Had a great time hanging out with you Lucky, and all the rest of the HAMBers that night. I know the neigbors loved us.
    See y'all next year.
    Brett

  25. The bottle on the right is from last year, 104mph.
