Art & Inspiration Old cars with Old signs - Got Some Photos?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 59IMPALER, Feb 4, 2016.

  1. Old signage is some of the coolest Artwork. Whenever I can, I try to get my '53 into the frame, also. What about you guys? 370.JPG DSC03837 (2).JPG

I like it. I like old signs and old cars. Should be interesting.

Somewhere I have some older photos of my wagon at Porkey's at Death Moinees.

  4. Signs and Cars together. It's fairly easy to get a good shot of one or the other. To make them work together, you've got to have the perfect storm: You stumble upon a cool old sign. Can you get the car positioned right? Is the weather and lighting participating? Oh, I forgot I had this one. Took it on the way to 2015 Greaserama. DSC03624 (2).JPG

  11. Dang, took me a minute too. I couldn't figure out the flying Powerglide emblem. Nice bodywork and paint!

I once owned a '39 Ford tudor with an alligator with a stop sign painted on the trunk, but that's not what you meant.

  16. 59 did a thread a week or two ago, with pics of his 53 and 59.
Both cars are very nice, but the 53 was the favourite.
I've been a fan of 53s, ever since building several kit sets as a teenager.
59s is perfect imho, and sure looks great under these old signs.

Must be lots of cool old signs out there, to shoot your ride under.
Looking forward to some creative shots.

So fare you are the only guy who posted an old pic of a fairly new car with a fairly new sign. Everybody else posted a fairly new pic of a old mint car, in front of a mint sign.

You have great taste in cars, and it looks SO nice h

  19. Check out that big ass receiver hitch on the Nomad! What were you pulling, the space shuttle?

  20. How about a car(partially)as a sign? Before it was positioned outside the used car dealer. A tube frame was fabricated to hold the body side and two wheels. Will have to get pics of the completed sign. PelhansHalfCar 002.jpg PelhansHalfCar 008.jpg

I think you missed by a couple of years. The white 2 door Ford Galaxie is a 68 judging by the tail light with the reverse light all the way across it. 67 Galaxie had a square reverse light centered in the red tail light. So, pic could have been in late 67 at the earliest.

This was a unique sign at a place near Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada in the 80's
Anyone know what the place was?
