Anybody have a picture of this when it was in front of Auto City Speedway north of Detroit Michigan?
Thank you for the recent additions.. In a few months I'll be back on the road to camp.. hope to get a few more Maine shots to add.
I remember his cars all over Florida in the 70s I believe parked in parking lots of business. I always wondered if it paid to advertise with as many as he had. I never looked close so I do not know how complete they were but it amazed me as a kid.
really cool thread, I'd like to put one on top of my shop someday
Crappy shot I know...but I was rolling down the interstate.
Yes that's a bubble top Impala.
Isnt bubble tops all they made in the way of hardtops in 61? They were special in 62 when they had both roof lines...
No pics but two locations near me. Knights Garage on Rt 125 `in Barrington, NH has a Crosley "wrecker" up on a pole with their garage name on it. Knights celebrated 100 years as a family business a few years ago.
And the Pink Cadillac Diner on Route 11 in Rochester, NH has a pink '59 Caddy as an "awning" over the front entrance.
we are doing a corvette to put up on a pole in front of my shop as we speak, funny how this thread popped up in the middle of it all...
Campground in Knoxville, Ia. I've slept under that thing for 15 years.
Maverick on a pole in Gadsden, AL. Not there anymore. http://www.flickr.com/photos/shani_stuff/2785610272/
A little off topic, but its on a stick.
A Saab Viggen outside Söderhamn (Sweden). just by the Highway E4.
A sign for the ol airforcebase.
If you take the main line in Queens, theirs a truck or auto body place with a '28-29 Model A truck on top.
Cool signs guys. But does anyone have a pic of the u-haul truck (27 foot?) in Oklahoma City, Ok sitting on top of the pole spinning around?
I remember this truck during my visit to Key West a couple years ago. I took lots of pictures during my trip, but for some reason I never got a picture of the truck. Found one on the web.
The cars in the sky are really kool........some look better than what I'am driving,,,,,,,,,,great pictures
When I was a kid in Milford, Ohio, the Milford Oil Company had a Crosley with sheet metal from the front seat back that made it look like a home heating-oil delivery truck. I have never learned whether that started as a coupe, pickup or what. Last I saw of it, it was sold on eBay, either to or by someone in Dayton, Ohio.
not a sign, but car into something relevant...like a planter.
I remember seeing this out the car window when i was little in the mid 60's, still there.
Its not a real convert but a two door HTP Belair they cut the top off. I stopped and asked one day...and no its NOT for sale......
Here is an old Hayes in Gwynne Alberta (a tiny semi-ghost town that I snagged a 28 A roadster pick-up and a 50 Pontiac ambulance out of)
Took the pole out for the hell of it.
