Found a pic in a 1988 Arizona Highways magazine today of two brothers who owned the Snowcap Drive In in Seligman, AZ. Don't know if the place is still there today....... The story showed the brothers standing behind some sort of old car. I looked on the net and found this better shot of it. Thought some of you might enjoy the pic.....and any memories you might have of that place. Pic of the restaurant........
The restaurant and car are still there, although Juan passed away a few years ago. It is run by his son now. My wife and I stopped there for ice cream on our honeymoon in 2000. Juan liked to play a lot of pranks on his customers, squirting them with fake mustard, etc.
I stopped by there on my RT66 trek from Las Vegas to El Mirage via Seligman in July 2010. That town was the basis for the movie Cars if I'm not mistaken.
Man ! That pic sure brings back memories of the best chocolate shake in the whole world !! The brothers Delgadillo ,one being the town barber and the other being owner of the Snow Top. My job in the late 60s was picking up wrecked cars from Kingman to Holbrook on 66, just across the highway was theSeligman Garage where where I loaded more than one total on the back of a '58 Gmc transport. One over the cab,one on the back and one on the hook at the rear--spelled scary when coming over Boulder Dam on my way to Henderon,Nv. and the wrecking yard. Thanks for the flashback !
Yep still there Stop there on the way back from the L.A. Roadster show last june Never miss it if I'm on the road in the area. 1 pick of the ole Whiting station also
