  4. Mine in its' current configuration. No interior or wiring, but it does pull well.

  6. Nothing special. It's just a cheap grey tent I've made fit. It was to expensive to get all the canvas made. It's got a queen sized bed in one half and the other half is empty.

I'm working on Spartan Manor #3, a '47. Having to take a little break to recover from a hip replacement a week ago (am I that old?), but as soon as I can get away without a cane, handle sheets of plywood and the the three step-up into the trailer, it is on.

Thanx for the new pix. Looks like you kept it true to it's OEM form. Gary

    Great thread!
Here is one I sold about 10 years ago. It is a 1962 GMC 4106 ex-Trailways highway coach with a 8V71 and an Allison automatic. It had a raised roof, full complement of electric, water, heat, air, etc.
I am currently looking for something much, much, smaller to pull behind the 52.

There was one here on the HAMB some time ago where the caravan was channeled and fitted with air ride and towed behind an early Econoline PU. Damn it looked good, can't find it now despite a search

  17. This is one I built in the 80s .I found the rear hafe of a 36 dodge delivery in a field. The farmer gave it to me for free. My wife an I had a lot of fun with it. You should have seen the campers in the large motor homes as we pulled in to the camp grounds. Still have it .But it could use a little help. 20160113_142049.jpg

  18. That's pretty cool, Ron. Any photos of the insides?

  19. Not really, it just has paneling on the sides a kerosene lamp and the floor is the bed that sleeps two.

Thought I'd revive this one. Finally got the old Scotty Sportsman ready for inspection. I didn't do a body off on it because it was pretty solid for its age. You can scroll up on this page for a look at an outside 'before' shot. I painted it to match the 55 so I will have a rolling bedroom and can't wait to use it. Here is a pic or two of her. 2016-06-05_15.10.46.jpg 2016-05-30_18.58.52.jpg 2016-05-30_18.59.01.jpg 2016-05-30_18.58.42.jpg

Cheepsk8----that is a super sweet little tow-behind....the interior is spot-on for 'pleasant & comfy' appeal....and the black & white color really does give it a distinctive look...I like it a lot!;):D

Thanks, I spent 10 hard months working her over. Still gonna pluck the windows out one at a time and rebuild them, but it's camping season and it is hitting the road. It is a close match to my satin black and white 55. I just hope the tranny holds up to pull it!

  25. Got some pics of the setup? Did you lose much room inside to get it that low?

I don't have any pictures inside. It was built by a buddy of mine. Its got a reverse 4link that goes under the bed. He had to raise the wheel wells slightly, which took up space in the closet and under the sink. As well as a slight kick up where the notch and axle are. The tank and compressors and valves are all under the bed as well. Without opening stuff up you wouldn't really know anything has changed.

  27. Very cool. Be great if you could get some pics of the reverse 4 link when you get the chance.
