Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CW's40TPU, Jun 25, 2012.

  1. I Just found 30+ photos of Bonneville & El Mirage, not sure who took these pics, they were in with some old Hot Rod magazines that my Dad boxed up. Feel free to ID pics if you know who they are. I do remember some of the cars here but not all.........cw.

Holy mack'l!!!......you've hit the Mother Lode!! Some of the cars are #777 = Kenz & Leslie Streamliner...... #147, The Redhead was a Chet Herbert streamliner, I believe...... Couple of belly tankers look to be the Markley Bros. Streamliner in the first set of pics looks like it's out of Lee Chapell's Speed Shop..... #2 Streamliner is Alex Xydias' So Cal Streamliner..... I see Don Waite's T Roadster and Barney Navarro's T roadster.......many others I know but don't have time to identify...the burgers are burning on the grill!!!

  27. The one in back? That is Cooper/Hayes T. The similarities are numerous.

this is an early shot of Lee Chapel's Tornado Streamliner 1949

This damage is obviously why it was repainted by the time the 1st Bonneville was held

This thing is unreal, first time I have ever seen it, great use of ww2 bomber observation bubble.

    Burke/Francisco's World's Fastest Hot Rod
    [IMG]

Marvin Lee B-class Streamliner, I'd hazard a guess and say the '34 in the top right is Jack Morgan's.

    Dick Price roadster
    [IMG]

Wes Cooper, Bob Hayes T roadster, B banger Fargo head. 142mph in '49.

Bob Wright, Don Berg '34 Cadillac v8 T. Common misconception is that there is a dummy pipe each side to make the headers look better but early Cad's had 8 exhaust ports not 6 like the later v8.

Bellytank on left looks to be the Vesco/Dimkins tank. 69 is Norm Lean's. 711 is Bob Joehnck. 690 Dave Ratliff. 612 is H. Papazian & J. Khougaz.

  28. Path/Moore Streamliner. Former car of Karl Orr. Karl won the '42 SCTA points championship with it, Bill Warth built it. When Karl ran it at the lakes the original nose from the Warth/Hilborn Streamliner replaced the original Warth/Orr modified nose.
