There were some aftermarket "conversion" pulleys made long ago, so you could put a fan on a 40-48 generator. They made both threaded and keyed. This one was keyed, so I used it along with a 57-64 Ford 12V generator, 49-53 mount and a 33-34 fan.

This is a great thread and really interesting. Unfortunately, your pictures from the frame riveting aren't working. I'd love to see them!

You simply build a bitchin' car, no matter how many doors, and tell any disagreeing peers to match it or "shut the fuck up". It's your ride, so enjoy it. Peers are so often wrong.

My buddy has my "37 Ford flatback 4-dr. It was so handy for toting my family or friends to the rodruns, AND it was what my parents brought me home in when I was born in '47. Very neat car. Besides, I'm old and don't care what anyone may say about a 4-dr.

  7. Great tutorial on how to properly "do" a 32.
It's a big help to me with my Tudor.
    Thanks for sharing!

@F-head Glad someone else likes the yellow, I have had a lot of "why yellow" questions...haha.

Very little to report from this weekend...mostly tightening up bolts and fasterners. I did get a radiator overflow made up...

Neal, beautiful job on the chassis! What rear spring are you using on the fordor in your avatar? If modified, how?
    Thanks

It has a reversed eye 32 rear spring, with a few leaves removed. The spring is pretty flat. I intend to put one leaf back in, to give it just a bit more travel.

    Neal,
Thanks, I want to have the wagon sitting about the same and wanted to use the existing spring. I guess I'll have to check the weight differences between the woodie and the fordor to see how many leaves to remove.

Would a box out of 37 Nash ambassador work?

It might, I have never seen one. I know the Lafayette boxes work. Can you get a pic of the Ambassador box?

Got another little project done. Made an accessory panel for an ammeter and ignition switch. It's tapered to hand under the 32 dash.

    Made a hammer form..

Welded the corners and drilled the holes...

And hung under a 32 dash. This car will get an original 32 dash, so oil pressure, temp and speedo in the stock panel, and this one under.

Nice, clean and solid looking, ready to have a seat bolted in and go for a quick drive while waiting for completion! lol

Just may have to plaguerize this idea for my 32...I have some leftover ni-copp tubing. In fact I may use your gauge panel for inspiration too. Nice work!

This happened on Thanksgiving Day...right in between Turkey dinner and desert...

That's what most families do for entertainment, right?
