    Four for gow
    Eight for show

You have the Winfield motor. Lets build the snot out of it, and drive that angry little tractor all over Seattle.

Then, when you find the '32 frame you want, build it the way you dream about, and swap the body over when it is done. Hot rodding, circa 1952.

  3. Yeah we all know that had a V8 in it before. Do it proud

I'm kinda diggin on the y-block (not only because I have 2...) but they are under appreciated!

If'n you'd want a smokin Canadian deal, I do have a stock a chassis in really nice shape, and a complete 301" y-block with the period hurst mount and speed gems bell housing to mate to early ford drive line... You know if you kept it channeled!

Either way you build it though, its an awesome save! I wish stuff like that would "find" me!

Would be a shame to not use the dropped axles you have.

Always thought this roadster looked awesome and it doesn't have a deuce frame. Food for thought.

  7. This is the way I think. It's certainly a possibility I may decide to do it this way.

But then there is this. I was honestly kinda thinking about doing what you did with your old roadster. throw it together and run the banger for a few years and then v8 it....I just want a roadster man. The truck is cool..but it's still a truck.

That would be a hell of a set up.

Very true, but i'm sure it will get a dropped axle. ; )

I think that is Loudpedal's old car? I've seen it before. I love it.

I am biased, but this sounds like a pretty good plan to me. You should go for it.

  11. Glad you've come to your senses. You have that nice Winfield motor, it would be great in a roadster

  13. Waxhead has a point - If you have the parts to get it on its legs and a runner, you can take your time to put the pieces together you eventually want to run... that way you can enjoy the snot out of it while you stack your nickels.

Let me know if you want to go early Olds power.
I may have some extra stuff laying around,
enough to get you started anyway.

'32 Chevy hood sides look right at home!

  19. Alright. Not much to report. I called Brookville about a subfloor. I'm gonna go with putting it on a stock frame right now and run a banger. I may try and run a dropped axle and a T spring in the rear. I think with what I have on hand I can get this thing on the road pretty cheaply. Then I will build a 32 frame for it over time.

I did get a locked up open drive top loader that I will eventually convert to closed drive. I put it on the shelf for the future.

I also was able to find all the spring mount clamps and little things in my stash. So that is nice.

I am still looking for a good frame ( I found a AR frame, but dont want to run it) and an original quarter panel with the upper section that I need, and a better door.(door is low on the list).

If you don't have any luck with a frame down there (kinda doubt you'll have a hard time) I do have a stocker up here, good and straight.

The car will look killer I'm sure, what about the winfield motor in a stock a frame with a drop axle and a channel, even faster to get back on the road! End up with a car much like RainierHooker posted a picture of!

Then at the point it evolves onto a '32 chassis you can subrail the car. More fun, less work to have the fun!

    Just my 2 cents.

  21. Don't forget the front crossmember is different between 28-29 and 30-31. Probably not that big a deal if you run hoodless, but if you ever decide to run a hood....

  22. Not to hijack this thread, but what are the differences? Thanks.

  23. The crossmember is recessed where the radiator bolt through on the 30-31's and raised on the 28-29's. If you build a 30-31 on a 28-29 frame your radiator shell will sit to high and your hood will run uphill from the cowl forward. Probably not noticeably hoodless but very obvious with a hood.

  24. I thought that might be the case. Thanks for clarifying.

Now, back to @Hitchhiker's regularly scheduled programming :)

Cool, don't work too fast. I've got to get my mitts on it too...

  28. I completely spaced on that. That's a bummer. I found a couple 28-29 frames today.

I'm sure there will be plenty to do!

The crossmember thing isn't a huge deal if you plan on running the '32 shell, but it might affect radiator decisions...

  30. That's the problem. I've already got a 30-31 A radiator and I would like to be able to run a hood.
