29, I don't know if the 56 in my garage ran and Bandimeres or not, but the owner Willie, ran a 55 and 57 Bird, both with Cammers pretty often. I talked with Willie today, as a matter of fact. He is a really cool guy. Eric
Thanks Ken, I knew you couldn't resist! What a killer build. Watch out, as a White 65 isn't far behind......ummmm after the 64 Galaxie is buttoned up! Eric
Not very visible in the pic but John Vermeersch's 61' Starliner has one And my favorite application of a Cammer even though it's a little O/T
Ken;you missed George's Dark Blue 65 Comet, and Scrappy's White 65 Comet, both with Cammers, and the under construction 64 Fairlane, cammer powered!!!! That was a cool show! ROY. OOPS,I wrote this as you were posting!
Roy wasnt this T-Bolt damn cool. Anyone see it finished? This was in 06 car out of Utah somewhere, never saw it again.
I have owned 3 Cammer cars in my life and am always looking for more. My all-time favorite is one pulled from a barn that was in a '67 7-Litre, Red 4 speed Convert. that was ordered from the factory that way by astronaut Gordon Cooper. I have an autographed picture of him at the dealership/looking under the hood when taking delivery of the car. A good friend in Orlando owns 12 Cammer powered cars including some Sox & Martins and Ohio Georges dragster (yes, he ran one other than his Willys). I am from Dayton, Ohio and stopped by Ohio George (Montgomery) shop as a teenager. He was/is the original "Grumpy", but knew those Cammers. Did you know he had a contract with the City of Dayton to install and maintain Cammers in their DUMP TRUCKS!! George still has a half-dozen or so NOS Cammers under his workbench! I will try to include some of my Cammer pictures and some of friends cars here close-by. The 7-Litre is somewhere in Miami, Fl. last I heard.
Okay I knew I had seen at least one running out there!!! I was thinking I was dreaming again. I remember a guy who had a '33 Ford Coupe had one in it. He was from CO too. Don't know what I did with the pictures. SOHC's are just the coolest motors ever in my book. Love this thread.
Ken;I forgot about Wayne's 64 and Wayne Green's 41!!! I have tried to find out what happened to that 64 Fairlane,no luck, father and son team as I remember!!Did you know that Wayne drove that 41 to Phoenix from the Sierras, still had bugs on the front, they almost didn't let him in as he showed up past the time cutoff!!I screwed up all my video from that show, made me sick!! ROY.
29, I think the 33 was owned by a guy names Dave Carlson, but that was a lot of years ago. I heard him say the first time he matted the gas, he twisted the body to the point, they had to pry the door open to get him out....
Holy Crap! Just found this thread, but I think we all agree this chunk of metal deserves to be on display in an art museum. Nicely done!! JT
