My dad knew a guy that had a small garage that he tore down for him for the wood. there was also 6 big metal shelving units inside the garage that he also let my dad have. well turns out the guy worked for a service station and the shelves were full of old various small car parts. glass taillight lenses, float bowls, clamps, spark plugs, carb rebuild kits. just a whole assortment of cool stuff. and one of the shelves had this small metal sign as you can see. it has the same thing on both sides. I just thought it was too cool. i think the service station must of used it when they caught people stealing gas back in the day.

Mine isn't friendly, but this is what it is. It is a shot of the rear of the T/F car I was working on in 1994. The late Clayton Harris was at the controls. The car had the first totally pneumatic pressure plate in it. This was our best run on the car. 4.85 at just under 300 mph, Phoenix AZ.
I'm sorry id you don't like it, but I am still proud as hell of what we did with it. JC

Cool thread and lots of neat stories.

Mine is sort of a little play on the "where were you in '62?".

Had "BEL AIR" on the back for a couple of years, but...

"HOT ROD" is the permanent personal plate on my car now. I doubt I ever forget to re-register and they can put the plate in my casket when I am gone!

Mine is what I consider my first big deal in building a car. Built my own jig and dropped my axle for my 29 A coopay, and it worked!!!!

A picture of my car from 1963. It came to me in pieces and boxes, and boxes and boxes. I gotta get this thing back together!

  30. My sister, my Mom and me in front of our family's first car, a '41 Pontiac Torpedo, at the farm in 1951 just before we went to church. Dad was the photographer. Loved his family, hated the car. Traded it for a Henry J with a bent valve. He overhauled the engine in my uncle's junk yard. I watched and was hooked on cars from then on.
