The sock reappeared....he didn't even know it.
Anybody want to make an offer for the sock?
    It's in a sealed plastic bag.....toxic waste!!
It probably smells better than some feet.

Rerun the tape (1957); Saturday night. We spent the afternoon at the Pink Panther, killed a couple of pitchers then went over to Young's and hooked up the stockers. Towed them out from Tucson on Prince road to Casa Grande Highway past the truck stop to Cortaro then Marana race track. Season isn't open yet, light switches are locked down. Brought a case of beer, me and some guys are taking turns sitting in the pits watching, then driving. Take a few laps in the moonlight. The owner has'nt unlocked the light switches yet, hasn't even announced when track opens for the season. I'm shivvering, anybody got any wine?, It was 80 today but it got damned cold out here after the sun went down, feels like 40. Can't wait for season to begin. Better get on home, honey is pregnant and cranky. Baby in the oven will pop about August.....................

Id be street racing somewhere .Not actually racing but watching .They shut it down many years ago .Front street was great .It was a legend of pennsylvania ,A spectator got killed and that was it .It was over ,We found other spots but after awhile that got raided and after awhile it wasnt worth the hassle .Now theres just cruise nights ,Racings over .

I'd be racing at one of the drag strips. Lions, OCIR or Irwindale, depending on the year.:D

Sat. night Aug. 1, 2010. Just finished working on the trailer. The sidecar is ready to go to Bonneville. Gonna load the ancient RV and head to San Onofre for a few days at the beach tomorrow. Get back and head for Bonneville. The years may have passed but things are still the same. Good times, good racin'.

What more could I ask for.....??

  23. On a warm saturday night I would be cruising from the A & W out to the beach in Clearwater, Fl. I would be in my 55 T-Bird and my beautiful Nancy would be sitting on the hump next to me in her short shorts.

A saturday night would be at the drive in,bar or someones party or at the drag strip, friday nights were at the round track and then off to a bar or a party. I wish now I had a life and I think I will grab a beer out of the fridge and head to the garage,it must be a getting old thing as all my friends are just sitting around on the weekend and doing nothing like me so maybe its time to wake them up and do something.

I'd be in my Nomad with my girlfriend at the drive-in movies until about midnight. After she was safe at home I'd troll around Precinct Line Road looking for a street race. Cruise by the wooded river bottom till you see tailights on the side of the road at the intersection where is gets straight for about a 1/4 mile. I can smell that muddy river and it's humid as hell and 90 degrees at 1 am. My hands are sweating on the wheel anticipating that 69 Yellow Yenko SOB that took my 20 bucks last weekend. I pop the hood and take the air cleaner off and toss it in the back. I re-light the PIX mosquito coil and set it on the dash. Tim Buckley playing on the local underground AM station. I hear a big block approaching.....

If it was 1961-2 I'd be working on my '29 av8 and taking my future wife out on a date to the movies and the local A&W to hang out with all of the other hot rodders. Maybe calling one of the locals out to see what he could do against the '29. After the drive-In closed it would be off to the submarine races. Good times...........the kids today don't have a clue.
