Has anyone dropped the oil pan on a 1950 ford car with the engine in the car? Engine is 226 flathead 6.
Wondering if it will clear the front cross member..
I have a significant amount of oil leaking from the bell housing. I suspect the rear main rope seal may be the culprit. Part of top of the front cross member had at one time been cut away to fit a large (429)V8, so there is extra room. Just did not know if the pan would clear the crank journals.
    Thanks, Steve

You may have to drop the tie rod and raise the front of the engine a bit. I've got a couple of flathead sixes but haven't had the good one in a chassis.
