So I'm letting the primer cure for a few days and today I noticed that the hoist above the car has dripped some oil onto the trunk lid. Am I safe just to wipe it down with grease and wax remover? Or what else do I need to do?

UH OHHHHH. Unless that was an epoxy primer it's strip time.

  3. if the paint falls off you will know that it was a problem

so i am kinda wondering on mein too and had to wipe down a bunch of oil from the air file too
always blame it on "paint failure"

Try a 50/50 mix of Dawn Ultra liquid detergent and water.
If that doesn't do it then keep adding more Dawn til it does.

you will need to wipe it down and block the area to bare metal, clean again and reprime, no big deal as long as remove all the oil.
