I understand now what you are saying, and I completely agree with you. I still believe your original post was quite confusing, and could be interpreted as the exact opposite of what you meant.

  3. I suppose I live in my own little world. We try to be pretty self reliant. I simply don't worry about much. Most things folks worry about never happen anyway. I certainly aint gonna let other folks troubles become my problems. I just don't give unproductive stuff free rent in my head. Now If my Social Security Ponzi check don't Arrive the third Wednesday. I will be a tad upset. I graduated in 1970 and over half of my classmates are already taking the dirt nap. We lost a 17 year old son 26 years ago in a car crash. Im no stranger to death. And Im not afraid to die.

  4. I agree. I will support those in the future who supported us now.

I am so very sorry about the loss of your son. I also have lost a few that were very close to me. So, shouldn't we agree about the severity of this situation that we've been dealt? And hopefully somehow feel, and have hope, for those who are seriously affected by this tradegy. I really don't know what we, as individuals, can do to help, but at least we can adhere to the recommended social distancing guidelines from the medical professionals. I volunteer at a local food bank program and we have been told to stay at home to prevent the spread of this virus. I can't even help there anymore. But I know it's for the best.
I too graduated in '70. So, we have some things in common. All I'm saying is this is nothing to downplay, to brush aside as if it's just another flu season. Ir's serious. And too many people are dying.

  6. The problem is nothing is consistant. everyone in charge seem to have their own agendas. Its difficult to admit that there is nothing for certain that is viable and actually works.

Old Wolf. I have always liked you and your can do self sufficient attitude. I am close to your age too and lost a Son in a car accident.
They say that 40-60% of us are going to get this before it’s all over.
The virus acts very different than anything we’ve experienced in the US.
I posted this to make every one realize how serious this is. So they don’t spread this to their friends and family.
Just hole up for awhile, at least until we get through this peak period.
I can’t imagine looking through a glass wall watching my family die without getting to hold and speak to them.

  8. I see where they are using drones to catch folks violating stay at home orders. Yesterday in calif they arrested a lone Kayaker in the ocean who wasn't endangering anyone. Simply put We either have the God given rights outlined by the framers or we don't. There isn't any clause that states the bill of rights is null and void if there is a Terrorist attack or pandemic. For me I would rather you and I get sick and maybe die rather than anyone elses Freedom and rights be infringed. Especially when the Infringment doesn't guarantee that you and I will wont get sick and possibly die any way. This stupidity has gone too far.

  10. Gentlemen ,

I understand that people have different feelings and opinions of this whole thing .
    And I know that I don’t know everything,,,so I don’t claim to .

However,,,,,no one should be called stupid or ignorant or any other descriptive adjective because of a differing opinion here .
This is a great site about hot rods and customs .
Old wolf,,,and anyone else can give their opinions,,,,and don’t deserve to be ridiculed about it,,,,who knows how all this will end,,,in either direction .
Myself,,,I’m praying for the lesser result ,,,,,and don’t beat me up about statistics .
We don’t know,,,,none of us,,,,,what the numbers will be .
I remember reading in history about D Day,,,,,we were supposed to lose over 70 % of the invasion force,,,,didn’t happen thank God .
More recently,,,the first Gulf war,,,,,the news media,,,which we all trust,,,,,,swore to us that we were gonna be slaughtered,,,,,(our boys could not possibly stand up against the Arabs over there ,,,,no way !)

It was pitiful,,,,for them over there,,,,,our boys beat the hell out of them .

Over a decade later,,,they went a second time,,,,,we took 140,000 men and took over an entire country over there !

You may be thinking ,,,what does all this have to with this thread .
Well,,,,,I truly believe in our people,,,all of them,,,,all of us !
    Americans pull together no matter what,,,,,our soldiers,,,our rescue /EMT,,,,our doctors,,,nurses,,,our leaders !

I come here to get away from all this drama .

I love everyone,,,and hope it all goes well for you .
Anyway,,,,,let’s just stay rational and friendly to one another .

    Tommy

    PS ,
I think Lone Wolf might deserve a little bit of an apology,,,,,he should not be run down over his thoughts on the matter .

  12. While the symptoms are the same, it looks like the main difference is that covid19 is much more contagious than the seasonal flu. More people catch it because there is no vaccine. If we did not have a vaccine for the seasonal flu then the numbers would be much higher for the flu also. Luckily, so far 80% of the cases for covid19 are mild and 99% of the people recover.
Don't be that 1% that dies, stay away from people. People is where you get it, avoid them.

My friend is an anesthesiologist at the VA hospital in Seattle, they are VERY concerned about this virus. He had me make this for their hospital to help protect them. 20200328_105527.jpeg Resized_20200331_061817.jpeg

Sheltering at home, maintaining proper social distancing, and wearing proper PPE, when we must go out.

If our last age poll is correct, the vast majority of HAMB folks are in the extreme risk group.

You need to take this deadly seriously, and protect yourselves.

You may not be sick now, and the people around you may not now be sick, either.

You can carry the virus without symptoms. Someone who is carrying it, who never will get sick from it, can bring it to you.

It may be 12-18 months before this virus has run its course.

Mexico is on shutdown for April.

There isn't a sudden change from 10 to 11. Somebody decides that less people gathered means less risk, then a number is chosen.

By your logic, we should shoot everyone who does not follow the recommended behavior guidelines for preventing infection.

    That's chilling.

In the US, you have the freedom and liberty to engage in all of the weapons-grade-stupidity you can manage, up to, but NOT including putting the health and safety of others in danger.

Cross that line and you have become a criminal, in all 50-states. That's settled law, no gray-area.

I think he's referring to the fact that some folks tried to sneak the new green deal into the stimulus bill. Also wanted to make airlines list flight pollution info for each flight. I'm thinking that's what he meant by war on internal combustion engine.
