Looks GREAT! I like the fact that you are going to put the handles and trim back on.

  9. Nice shoebox, it looked killer un-chopped & will look awesome with the chop.
It's your car now, do as you want!
I wish I had your fab skills.
    Maybe I'd chop mine.

  10. Really nice work. I was a bit concerned when I saw how nice a car you started with, but man you've got the skills so keep on keepin' on.

Love it. One of my favorite post-war cars. Especially with a hair cut.

  12. Thanks, the back glass will be moved forward around 3" and laid down.

  14. Thank you, I'm really not 100% sure on color yet. For a long time I've wanted to paint it gold close to this. [IMG]
But I'm thinking if I do it a gold like that it kind of makes the car look "loud" if you know what I mean. Now this car was repainted once before, it wasn't originally black. I was thinking if I find a nice color that was from the 50's it would tone it down some and make it more about the car and not just a flashy color. [IMG]
    This was the original color.

  15. Funny thing was the guy owned a used car dealership about 5 minutes from my house, was also a old stock car racer.
He bought the car from another old timer in North Carolina where he had a summer home. He had something like 30 old cars at the time. Something happened to him and he couldn't walk anymore so instead of trying to sell it outright he sold it off at the auto auction. The guy I bought it off of he was 4 hours away and was a car dealer also. So really this car hasn't had someone to show it love in a while before I bought it. I've had the car 7 years now and have no plans on ever selling it, I'm sure one day it and the Model A will be my sons cars. It made no sense to me to sell the car then to find a rusty project car to completely start over with just to keep this one in cut. If it was something really rare or something, yes I would not have done this but there are lots if Shoeboxes out there.

That original color looks like "Seafoam Green". My '51 was originally "Seafoam Green" and someone painted it black about 30 years ago. They did a very good job, but I wish they hadn't changed the color. The grren says "fifties" to me.

  17. I like the seafoam green, I also like the gold but agree it is a little "loud." If you hadn't done the Washington Blue on the Model A, I'd say do that, I've always thought that's a good color for a shoebox.

  18. When I had mine photoshopped, @themoose did it in a root beer color I really liked as well, here's the picture he did of mine:

Great clean car, and nice work. I am also in the "drive a car the whole family can fit in" club. I'm up to a wife and 2 daughters now. Wouldn't trade cruising with the family for anything

Love it, love the slanted post.. The forum is for traditional customs not traditional stockers, start with the best you can find.. Let the man build his own car
