Thank you brother. It has kind of turned into a party this week. I should I have it covered from the tech side of things looking at the current guest list! LOL:D But man you are certainly welcome to come. Steaks, Burgers, Brauts and plenty "o"cold beverages being served up. Then we will fire it around 1 p.m. If it doesn't run we will try it for 30 minutes and then the hell with it for the day, go back to Steaks, Burgers, Brauts and Cold Beverages....if you know what I mean!:p

If you can measure the distance from the bearing shoulders to where the ring gear bolts on the spool and the stock carrier...you could do the math to figure the difference and start there...if by gone you threw the carrier away...then a guess is all you can do.

I was going to slip side bearings on and measure total endplay of spool to get me close to a total shim count. I have a bunch of shims left over from my last d60 r&p job.

It will be fun watching you go down the track Bob.
I was trying real hard to get a new bullet for the Bel Air but not going to happen.
Its just a rear that will hold up and more tune up.

So I stopped by Fred's place
a few minutes ago,and the lil ol "Super 289" is coming together.
Heads will be ready in a little over a week by his estimation, and my buddy Ron is working on freshening the carbs while I'm stuck working out of town.
Here's a couple of greasy cell phone pics I snapped while I was there:

A few weeks and we should have dyno numbers, and be dumping this little fella in the car:)

Medium.Thats my standard answer for everything Tony.lol!

Actually,I will have to dig through all my stuff to find the specs on the springs.
The guy from Isky said they should be good to 9000rpm,and they cost too much.Lol

My head has been too clouded with work stuff lately to remember any fun stuff.

Scott I have your back buddy, if you need to borrow a chute to slow that pony down at the Meltdowns, you
can borrow the one from the Austin. Of course you probably won't have the speed to deploy it, but maybe
it will get caught on something as you drag it on the ground. :p:D

Motor looks awesome, can't wait to hear it run!

The only thing that parachute is gonna get snagged on will be the jagged, broken shards of your hopes and dreams, after you get handed a crushing defeat by a heavier, less powerful, street driven,UNsupercharged car...

Just curious Jeff, but is that the tool you used to tighten your U-bolts last year?
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460793972.233464.jpg
Try letting Eric help you with it this year.He will use his big boy tools, and that mean old Oinky Doinker of yours won't go "boom" more often than it goes "vroom"!

Also,I might be bringing an entourage of savages with me this year, led by my old buddy Curt.He divides his time pretty evenly between working shutdowns as a Steamfitter/Navy diver/Public Relations expert.
Curt is seen here, winning little hearts and minds while on a super dangerous, top secret mission to Montreal. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1460794724.654442.jpg
Joel H: I think you and Curt have some things to talk about.

This is going to be the best/weirdest Meltdown yet.

Okay guys maybe we better lay off Scott for a while. It appears he is up all hours of the morning trying to come up with clever retorts. Not to mention, judging from his last post, he is having delusions one that he has friends and two about little people. Sad really! LOL.

No,just up at 4:00am to get an early start on the 2hr drive home from the job site.
And what's wrong with little people....?
You probably don't want to mess with them....Bad things might happen.

Scott , at least Jeff's car was there to break, instead of broken dreams lol and not having a car there.

Good luck and hope you AND your car make it this year.
