Sounds like its time to make it yours.
Hope that some day I will get the chance to through down with ya.

  4. I'd like to hook up the break lights, so a micro switch on the pedal, or a pressure switch in the rear brake line? I've heard of the guts blowing out of the pressure switches, so I'm a little gun shy of that route.., although it would make the job a tad easier. Which one?, and is the pressure switch failure an urban legend?

    Ric,
I think it would be cool to see you guys do the car up like your Dad's old car when it's time for a repaint.
That was originally the plan anyway,right..?:)

  10. .., course, when your chasing rust
Doesn't have a rubber pad, but we could put it in the metal pedal I guess, like some folks mount their two step switches.

  11. Yep, 57 Cadillac Conalt Blue, maybe redo the pin stripe flames in silver and grey, Yesterday's Child on the quarters, and Panneton Bros. on the door, or maybe Panneton Coker & Elliot? All the lettering in silver leaf with a red shadow/outline.

  12. If somebody's thinking of a small car, what about the Morris Minor idea, ooooor, a '65 Opel Station wagon!?

Micro switch I think is the way to go( that is how us Mopar Boys do it ) pressure switch just an other way to have a leek and no brakes.

    Your car
    Your build
    Your way
I have a friend that gave his car to his kid and the kid is into Auto cross, but is dealing with does he change it to meet his standards or keep it the way his father built it. And I tell him the same thing.

I know this...about a two years ago, out of the blue, I got a new pressure switch in the mail from Speedway. They said there was a warranty issue with the one I had purchases earlier in the year and they were replacing all of them. They attributed it to leaking down pedal pressure (nothing was said about catastrophic failure etc.).

Okay, with all the hilarious smack talk going on here, lets be serious for a moment...Which one of you has a "working" clutch pedal in the car. I mean who is shifting and who is just sitting...? LOL!

Doug Nash 5-spd here....The 5th gear is because the car sees a lot of street driving, and I use it like an overdrive gear for the 45min drive to either of my local tracks:)

  26. I got the same deal from Speedway, thats why I'm jaded about going that route now. I'm going with a micro switch, and giving the pressure switch to the Doker for Valentines. ❤️
