Scott I was dialed in with a 12.50 he was dialed in at 11.86 I think
I cut a .024 and he was .078 but I never lifted and broke out (I hate bracket racing) I was way out front but just could not let off or stab the brakes just not in me. He ran a low 12s
Must be why my dad nicknamed me lead foot.

Good close racing for the fans to enjoy is the most important part:)

Norb: We're both mostly Ford guys, but both my Dad and I also have a soft spot for anything that says GTO in the grille, many Mopars, and there's even a local AMX stored away in a garage for 30 years that has us all goofy and drooling.lol!
A coupes powered by a blown olds, big nailhead,or early Hemi are all cool by me,as are sbc's dressed out like power pack 283's,427 Hi Riser Fords,409 Chevys, and 421 Pontiacs.
I don't know exactly what it is about those Pontiacs, but they just have something so tough and super cool about them:)

Well I am hoping to get off the project list. The boy and I have been trying to tune it out on the highway. I haven't quite got the line lock mastered, I have big and little black marks. and we are fighting a lean off idle condition. But it sure is fun!

I don't have any luck trying the line lock on the street. It is different on the track the front tires will hold on the track.

Scott, your right, there are a lot of cars out there that are different makes that are just plain cool. Before I die I want to own a '30 or '31 Model A coupe.

Maybe you should build a Chevy or Pontiac as a back up car, can always transfer the belts over to the Ford

    when it runs.:D

    Scott-

I am glad that you brought this up. In talking to the folks at Byron, they are going to be even more thorough with their tech inspection. They will be looking at belt dates, helmet codes, etc. Believe it or not last year there were about 20 guys who didn't even have carb return springs...thank god Brothers Specialty auto parts had a bunch on site.

I understand I need to run water in the cooling system...with the car heat up faster or run hotter with just straight water vs coolant? If so should I use Water Wetter?

Stupes - I am sure this could become one of those topics like "does a car run hotter with or without a thermostat"....Anti-Freeze is intended to prevent your block from freezing in winter and lubricate the water pump.

For a weekend of drag racing your car will do just fine with only water in it. Just remember to go back to an anti-freeze mix before winter or you will be playing a not so fun game called "pick up the freeze plugs"...

I know the track doesn't want "watter wetter" in the system either as that is also harder to clean up off the track than just plain old water.

I think and could be wrong but just water will transfer heat better than anti freeze.

And guys we want everyone to be safe so the tech guys are there to help you and everyone be safe.
