Half Breed rules....when the new owner found the car someone had cut the front axle ends off...I had to reattach them.

Back in the late 50's they called this one the 'hot box' and reckoned it was the onl;y dragster that had never been taken out of the crate....

    Cheers, Glen.

  12. This drawing is from 1980. It shows a Lightburn Zeta. They were made here in my town in the early sixties. I remember at least two being locally made into Holden inline six powered altereds in the early seventies. I was a kid and I don't remember owner details but perhaps one day i'll find out.
They recieved show ink in local rod mags back when- be good to see those pics or any others. I reckon they ran somewhere between 11- 14 secs. One was I think called 'Monkey Man'. The Leonards @ O.G. Speed Shop'll probably know..

These guys were brave! They are the reason for tech inspections and safety rules. Alot of good old backyard trial and error.

This is one of my favorites. The Royal Kustoms Phantom Bantam. The car was built a few years back. I think they nailed it. They have been trying to sell it on Ebay.

I remember the Backup Pickup from the Nationals in mid 60's. Also, here's a local Metropolitan with a 460 Ford.

    from here

Royal customs sold it a while back .The new owner is trying to sell it now .Why it is garage art.Can not be driven on the street, and no drag strip will let it run as the frame will not pass.

  29. Interesting. The Back up pick was sponsored by Foulger Ford in Monrovia CA. That one you posted was from Galpin (the worlds largest Ford Dealer) also in CA. I wonder if it's the same truck or if that is the reason my friend's and I remember the Foulger one being named "The Original Back Up Pickup"
