Has anyone ever run across one of these? Casting # 3823485. Numbers came up zilch searching the internet. It's a drivers side, looks like a generator mount cast in, and 2 exhaust outlets.....

Don't know what it is originally for, but it would make a great piece for a turbocharged SBC.

Maybe some sort of industrial application like a generator or compressor engine? Possibly a cold weather climate application that goes to some sort of valve that warms the incoming air? Strange.

I would guess for some sbc powered generator, or similar piece of equipment. The bottom flange could have a crossover pipe from the other side routed to it, then the final exit would be straight up, out of the top flange on that side. That way only one exhaust pipe would need to be run straight up in the air with a flapper or muffler on it.

Of course, that is just a guess. :D

Or maybe a combine. Ok, I added that later.

They are from a combine. I have a set also. Lower outlet originally had a steel plate on it.

If you google "martin turbo charger" you can see similar manifolds.

Looks like the left side manifold... the right side had a conventional manifold with a crossover pipe under the engine, that bolted on the bottom of this manifold, then the exhaust went out the top into a single stack... as F6 said, some kind of industrial or tractor or earth mover type application?

If I recall correctly it was a Gleaner combine or possibly a Massey Ferguson.

Search confirms Massey Ferguson did use I6 and SBC's.....Is the right side unusual too? I've only got 2 left side manifolds.

Maybe I have two right side manifolds! Neither of mine have a generator bracket on them.

I also have a pair. Had them for over 20 years. NEVER knew what the application was. I found them in a scrap metal bin. :D
