Looks just like both, the one on my uncle's early 72 Gremlin X, and my dad's 79 AMC Cherokee Chief Jeep growing up, but it has been a few years since I laid eyes on those, so I could be wrong

Before and after shots of my 1940 chevy spinner wheel , factory option , It was on my 39 when it came from the dealer new. We know the family that bought it new. Apparently it was still on the lot late in the year and the wheel was added to help sell it.

Fatman wheels were for a brief time fashionable in open hot rods during the late 70s-early 80s. Some are really magnificent in appearance and some even have a locking feature where the wheel spins free in lock mode as an anti-theft device. Shouldn't be that hard to find one at a major swap meet, many arehanging in rodder's garages as a curiousity.

Actually, I believe that "door bezel" is actually a clock delete plate for a '49-'50 Ford Meteor--the Canadian Ford shoebox from those two years.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

53 Hudson. I bought the whole steering column just to get the mast for another project but the more I looked at the wheel, the more I liked it.

The Hudson wheel replaced this 57 Mercury wheel.

The best one that I ever did. A one of a kind 39 Banjo wheel with a working horn ring. Yes press down the ring with your thumb and the ooo-gah horn sounds.

I did a double take when I saw this wheel and dash combo! I have the same Olds wheel and dash waiting to slip into my 48 Chevy Convertible! (With Olds rear fenders, sporting custom made 41 'Buick' skirts)

Could you refresh my decaying grey matter? What year dash is that? I bought mine YEARS ago and I have slept since then!

Hats off for a nice combo!

....Your Honour....I submit to my learned colleague. My evidence was hearsay, speculative, and (I now realize) without merit. I bow, sir, to your breadth and depth of knowlege.....

    (TD: Thx for the insight)

Looks like the makings of another one in the back ground with provisions for a neckers knob already on it!

  25. Nice wheel in my '55 Desoto and a '62 Studebaker wheel.

How do you know he wasn't painting the handrail and got overspray on the wheel !!! :p

This is a great thread and your wheel is exactly the kind of thing I love about (most of) the folks here and being a member !!!

I've posted this one before, but nobody seems to have a definitive answer as to what it's from. The aircraft contingent had the most votes & it's similar to one from a WWII plane called the "Bamboo Bomber." I also got boat, bus, forklift, amusement park ride, etc. It's 14 1/2" diameter. The jury is still out on whether I'm going to use it or not...it'll take some trick adapting & I don't want to alter the wheel in any way.
