History Odd Helmet ID ?

    Not mine, just trying to help out a pal. Made by Bell-Tex Long Beach CA. He was told it was a drag helmet but I have never seen one like it.

    It just looks like the early Bell full face helmet to me. I think they called them a Bell Star or something like that. Would have been made in the late '60s?

    X2 for early Bell. Knew a Harley flat tracker who had one very similar if not the same in the mid 70's, fixed lense.

  10. Bell (and others) experimented with a lot of different eye openings in the 70's, even ones with two separate eye holes. I think the one pictured was a Drag Race version due to it being so long below the eye opening. This would have dug into the chest on Open Wheel racers.

    I believe the robot was called "Gort".
