    crazydaddyo,

nice score on the parts! There's a guy in the T club here in Long Beach, and Orange, that makes carb kits for the Winfield carbs if you need them.

Are those gas powered pogo sticks in the back ground?

I will need kits for them, but not right now.

Yes, they are motorized Pogo sticks.

I just picked up a nice 31 5 Window in a trade! I'm going to put it back togther with a counter balanced "B" motor that I've been holding onto for years. I feel kind-of bad though! Acey-Duecey had one for sale for a good price that I should have bought, but when you don't pay out of pocket for a 5 window, Well you know! Sorry Dan! I'll post some pics later.

  5. I stand corrected as to the brand of auto. My only excuse is that it has been 50 odd years since I was told the story.

The wheelbase on this looks REALLY small. Wondering if this is a bellytank chasis or something.

Also, check out the plaque haging from the steering wheel. Seems to be a picture of a car and the words "North Hollywood." Could be wrong. Only inspection of the negative would tell for sure.

They haven't run in some time. The last time I rode one was when I was 10 or 11 yrs old. And I'm too scared to ride one now ;):eek:

I will bring one tomorrow for show and tell.

I was kinda hoping to see you ride that thing across the parking lot.

I'll bring a semi rare Winfield carb for show and tell too.

Well done on the Winfield score, Dan. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Every month you guys torment me with all this banger stuff - I love it!!!!!

Not bacon rind, but how about shoe leather?

When my grandfather graduated high school, he and his best friend took a '20's 4 door touring car (no top) from Mangum Ok to California. They left knowing they had a bad rod bearing, and many strips of shoe leather scraps from a family shoe repair business. His story was they would drive a few hundred miles, and then they would pull it apart and rewrap. He said he thought they were going to die in Death Valley.

No argument from me that their generation was the greatest... and the toughest.

Reading the posts about home ground cams reminded me of two things-

The Kiwi Burt Monroe held a record for a streamliner motorcycle, at B'ville, with an "Indian" that was more homemade than factory. Made his own rods, pistons, flywheels, cams, cylinders and heads, with the crudest of equipment

Second, I have a Winfield Ford A/B cam for an F head (exhaust lift is greater than intake) It looks like it was put into an enginge and run for a couple minutes and then removed. I'll never use it- if interested PM me.

T Bone contact Bruce Norlie at [email protected] for more details, I 've attached more pics with different set ups. First two pics are bare housing, 3 is 8BA 4 is truck ring to flat-o, 5 is C4 bell to speedway C4 adaptor, 6 and 7 show starter layout. Bruce used a plate adaptor to mount a T5 to 8BA bell using stock 8BA flywheel in his RPU.

the motor isn't a real monster... just something a little more rowdy to play with at the race track
counterweights on the crank, little higher oil pressure, 300 lift cam 284 duration(I believe a Harmon & Collin's grind) 7:1 Winfield head...

It'll get a pair of 97's and some sort of light flywheel... either cut down A, cut down V8 or aluminum V8.... hooked to the stock A trans

The car will have rear brakes fitted with hydraulic cylinders leaving the mechanical emergency brake... no front brakes

We're cloning a car that my dad's uncles built around 1945-46 to race locally in PA

It'll look like this hopefully in the end... the driver was Mitch Smith who went on to be a pretty big name in Sprint Car racing... this was his first race car
    [IMG]
and if anyone has a box like is attached to the cowl... its an accessory spill box for a 28-9.... we're hunting for one

    Thanks Corn Coupe,
I'll try to contact on a Mobil supplier her in Belgium on monday and hope they can get it for me here.:)

I think I stated my other question wrong, I know how to drain the old oil but I wanted to know how you guys flush and clean out all the old oil from the trans and rear end when they are still in the car. And what kind of product I should use.

    Thanks,

    Eddy

    Mark,
I don't think so, but I don't have a B timing cover here at home to check. If it helps, the two mounting bolt holes are 9" on center.
