Looks like the yellowcoupe was actually Mr. Kreutzer's rather than the full fendered car of Mr. Toynton. I believe both cars are still in existence. Mick
Its interesting that 2 sectioned 32' five-window coupes were in the same show. Both were done by the same body shop, maybe that was the shops speciality?
I heard that 3 32's where sectioned that way. Ron, do you remember the one that was always at the Lodi show we went to? I think it was Maroon. I saw a yellow street rodded one about 3 years ago on an HG TV show, I think it was up around Petaluma. Dean
Hey Dean , I vaguely remember the Lodi car , I looked thru my old Lodi photos but didn't have a picture , hopefully somebody will have a picture to post.
These pictures bring back so many memories. The Frank Rose roadster was raffled off at the Oakland roadster show in '58 or '59. A while later I heard the engine was for sale by the winner. He was putting a Chevy engine in it. It so happens my '47 two door had just been hit while parked and I got $75 for the damages. Exactly what they wanted for the Chromed Frank Rose flathead engine. I bought it, installed it and never put the hood back on unless it rained. Sorry for the bad pictures. They were taken from 8mm home movie film. That's me on the left in about 1960. I was 18 and my brother on the right was 22. The 47 was his first car and when he bought the the two tone 55 he gave me the 47.
Gary, thats some great history on the Frank Rose car , I did not know about the raffle. That car has always been one of my favorites , the Jack Hageman metal work was just beautiful! That same car was in the 1950 show , but as a fenderless pick-up owned by Don Rocci.
Ron, thank you for posting the other pic, I had been told that there was at least 2 sectioned 5 windows but this is the first time I have seen visual proof. It would appear the Graffiti clone is the John Kreutzer's 5w.

The Rose car with the Chevy engine was part of the Harrah's collection when it was finally sold. It had been painted red, as I recall. Does anyone know its where it is today? It has always been my favorite roadster.
Owned for decades and driven daily by (late) San Diegan Eddie Fitgibbons. He passed away about a year ago. IIRC, there were three (step) sectioned in this style. Looks like a chopped coupe from behind, then you do a double take as you pass by and see stock height side glass.
Thought I would bump this thread. I scanned this article from the May 1953 Hop Up. Comparing the cars it appears the John Kreutzer-Eddie Fitzgibbons 5w started out as Bill Crowell's 5w
Side view at the bottom right of the second page from Hop Up is incredible with the fenders and the rake....oh and love the front nerfer
