my good friend just picked up an el camino that needs some parts, any help would be great. It doesnt have a seat so i was wondering if any other cars bench seats would fit. It also needs a dash and tail lights and bezels. We are really looking for used(cheap) stuff so whoever has any info thanks alot.
Try Muscle Factory in Placentia http://www.muscle-factory.com/default.asp Ive been dealing with them for years! They have the best prices on re-pop parts and have some used inventory as well.
andy's little bro might have some extra stuff..I think he has 2 el caminos so he might have extra stuff. hit him up.
Year One or Classic Industries. There's also a wrecking yard called All American Classics with a web site. They list all the cars they have in stock. Found headlight bezels for a '65 Biscayne before they were made in repo. They were cheaper than repo too.
I just got a catalog from a place called: www.elcaminostore.com They are in Georgia. 1-888-685-5987 There used to be another place in California called The El Camino Store. I don't know if they are still in business, though. Mike
Good luck finding anything elco specific used, and in decent shape. So many of em got worked to death when they hit bottom-value that the junkers don't have much left. How's the midship rot on this car? They're terrible about rear window rot, and the box leaking, turning the cargo hold into a humidor. happy elcaminoing
the El Caminos Owners goroup has a HUGE website with parts wanted and for sale areas: http://elcaminocentral.com
Whatever you do, do not go to OPIG they suck as far as customer service goes and they buy 90% of there stuff from the Muscle Factory. You'll get it cheaper at the Muscle Factory...they own all the molds.
you should be able to use the bench out of any 64-67 chevelle 2 door, and if you are not concerned about access to behind the seat, a 4 door seat would work too. the dash should be the same as the passenger cars and wagons, whatever the year change cutoff is... maybe 65 dashes are the same, and 67?
Shit, just measure and go to the junkyard to see what you find. You will need to cut and weld the bottom mounts to work most likely. Either bench seat or some buckets. If you want bolt in you need something out of a GM A-body from the same time period, like jonz said.
The 66 dash is very simular and will work but here is some differances. I own a 67 El Camino And a 66 Malibu If you need more info i can help you a lot.
i have 2 66 elkys and 2 67 elkys. also have 5-66 chevelles pm me a list and i will let you know what i have. i live in northern arkansas bjb
