Any word or pictures on the turnout this year? Thinking about heading over tomorrow.
I can’t report on the vehicle count, but there was a very good turnout today.
Thanks. Planning to make a run over tomorrow.
It was just reported that 8,988 registered participants this year at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals.
all of those rides, and no one posting pics
Here are a few I took.
Thanks for pics - appreciated
Thanks for the memories
I'm here, but didn't take any pictures besides my car 37 Chevy Ute.
Busier than last year, as said almost 9000 registered. But that includes pre-reg that didn't make it. Still decent turnout. Very rough guess about 2/3 are 49-up.
I'm not really complaining Just thinking out loud I guess I went down on Thursday Left on Sat Highest # I saw was 8700 something So thinking probably around 9000 cars registered I enjoyed the show but was sitting there thinking how much it has changed I know they say if you don't like the car - walk on past it & I walked past many - many I just wonder what some of the people are thinking with some of the cars they are entering in the show grounds Some of them I just ran past them shaking my head thinking how can this be a show car I have 5 old cars 4 are pre 49 So that is kinda my thing I enjoyed my weekend I just think it is probably less than 20% pre 49 Going back next year (Lord willing ) Saw a lot of friends made over the years Made some new 1's this year All in all a good weekend just changed a lot
9000 cars at a car show? Honestly, that sounds like my worst nightmare.
The last time I was there was 29 years ago with 14,000 pre 1949 cars registered. Now open to cars up to 1991 and pulled 9000 cars. Sad, very sad.
The post 48 rule change was a mistake.
The 30 year rolling rule is just another way for N$RA to get more $$$. It was better when there were two separate divisions, pre ‘48 & post ‘48.
Thanks for the pictures.
That I believe is what they thought. What was the highest number of registered cars several years ago, something close to 15,000? I was there, can't recall what year that was but it was before the year change.
Didn't quite work out like they thought.
For those of you who only want a pre 49 show check out the Frog Follies in Evansville Indiana, usually fourth weekend in August.
Cool pictures and thanks for sharing, I have to ask what’s the skinny on the two original looking 1932 ford barn finds?
One thing you have to consider is the climate we are in right now due to the pandemic and all kept a lot of folks from going. You can't blame folks for trying to keep themselves healthy.
Events that big are great if you enjoy big crowds, but myself I had rather go to a smaller event with 100 cars or less. I don't like large crowds of people at any kind of event, so I don't go to many larger ones.
Ryan, you my friend define the word enigma, you avoid situations where there are a lot of people and large car shows yet you created the largest hot rod & custom site with a enormous on line presence and I thank you for that! HRP
Normally too hot, too crowded, too much walking, streets are too congested and hotel rooms are impossible to find but I do enjoy the vendors, swap meet and seeing old friends.
The year change really ruined it.
I do enjoy seeing the pictures. Thanks.
Our club had 8 cars with 10 members and all pre 48. WE relaxed in the shade, shopped, met some cool new people and had a good time. I enjoy a lot of the later models at least to the mid 70s. It was hot.
I took these because you almost never see one outside a museum and there are a couple of guys on here doing builds. 39 Guy is one I think. I didn't get to talk to the owner so I don't know the drivetrain.
That 39 convertible sedan is beautiful. HRP
Terry you taking care of my 49-51 ute..
I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread, but there was another titled (I think) NSRA2021. It was loaded with 32s.
Any one know what happened to it?
it got deleted for having too many off topic billet wheels
I have yet to attend an auto event that I did not enjoy. Some maybe more than others, but from a local 25 car rod run/car show of the past to this years 9,000 car NSRA nats, I always find a way to enjoy it. Been doing it for 60 years, gonna keep doing it as long as I can.
I counted about 49 great photos, two off topic. Is two too many to post? (grammar lesson)
I could go look again but there were far more than 2 that were off topic. and 1 is too many to post. this is a hotrod forum and not a street rod forum
