Have 1/4" NPT male end that I want to connect to a 4 or 6 AN fitting. I know there must be an adapter that will let me go from NPT to AN but can't find one; does the adapter have to have a flare on the end for NPT male as shown in photo? NPT MALE.jpg

  2. Did you check Raymond Godman's, Memphis?

Check out a tractor supply style store. They call AN fittings JIC in steel. Not a problem. Also Aeroquip or any of the other aluminum AN hose fitting makers will have them.

Your going to need a 1/4 NPT coupling first for the AN adapter to screw into.

  5. Just grabbed mine from the local Auto parts house.

I often use Discount Hydraulics for JIC fittings. Same as An without the FAA paperwork. No Aluminum, but they do have stainless, brass and standard steel.

Searched SPEEDWAY online and can't find female NPT end with AN male on the other end.
Did find 1/4"X1/4" female coupler both ends that would let me then use 1/4" NPT with 4AN fitting but wouldn't the coupler have to have a flare in it to work with the 1/4" NPT male end? Am I making this more complicated than necessary?
