How are you going to get the rest rust off the inside of panels? Sand or dip or POR over or ?
I usually sandblast both sides then sand slightly smoother and then epoxy paint. Some small parts I have given citric acid bath. It removes rust very well.

heres a pic of what everyones been asking for. what tools i use to do this stuff. once again i have no compressor use a 4500 rpms sander and a 4 1/2 inch grinder with the rubber backer cut way down so ya get less grinder marks

What kind of 4500 rpm sander are you using. It has got to be cheaper then running an air compressor all day.

Thanks for the info too .
I think most of the grinders are about 10.000 . It s way to fast to have the same result ..

    Hey,

The Herbrand brand of tools sure had some "interesting'' patterns! Not quite like Proto, not quite like Farmount, kinda weird but well balanced & finished.

I've run a smaller 7'' Makita sander for about 18-20 years and only replaced the switch and pad once. I'll grab this when the compressor is off, or when I'm working outa the shop and don't have alot of serious grinding to do. I never use those little chi-comm. 4.5 dia. grinders when doing sheetmetal work as you can;t put a larger pad on them, and smaller wheels generate to much heat, and won't show low areas in the panel that need to be raised for metalfinishing.

I am wondering why, when you chop a model a coupe you cut through the middle of the windows then drop down several inches to cut around the rear corners.

You are really skilled!!! I cannot get metal as smooth as you do.
