Just got my hands on a Late 31 Ford Vicky. This should be a fun little project.
I've got an old black and white photo of my Grandpa sitting in his 31 Vicky when he was like 20, so this one is a keeper.

Plans: Juice brakes, dropped axle, drop the rear, 16" or 17" wires, some new bias ply, warm up the 4 banger, lose the bumpers, drive the wheels off.

The Model A and 32 Vickys are two of the best Ford designs ever...I like your plans, that should be a really cool little ride.

Nice car. If you really study them, the A Vickies seem to be an in between from an A to a '32 - Two hinges, slant posts, flush doors, the little web in the front of the door window and the deep reveals at the lower window openings. Also seem to use very similar internal hardware - latches, regulators, dovetails and bumpers. I just wish they didn't have so much wood in them.

  6. Welcome to the Banger Club. Nice Vicky and a steelback even. Vickys are Vicky only on a lot of things so be careful and dont break stuff, the sum of its parts is probably worth more than you paid for the whole car. acnt wait to see progress on this one.

Had a little time, took the bumpers off. I've got a set of 16" wires coming in a couple of weeks, and have some Firestone blackwalls 5.50 x 16 for the front and 7.00 x 16 for the rears to mount ASAP.

Hey, cruzace! If you're having a problem with too much spare cash, send some my way; that is not a problem I am currently having!;)

I love Vickies, have since I was a kid.

Well it took long enough, but I did a little to the Vicky.
    Changed the wheels and tires.
Now I think I need to lower it just a bit.

That car looks very familiar. Did it come from Whittier?

Yup! The '35 wires are just the ticket. Now get it a little lower with some spring work and possibly a dropped axle for the front.

Boy, that's classy! Love the Honduras maroon over the black fenders...
Agree on the T rear spring; Nice 4" dago in front with reversed eyes, flattened spring.
If you keep the mechanical brakes, some of the HAMBers have devised some brackets fo reach from the perches to the brake equalizer shafts.
I truly envy you on this one...The excessive wood wouldn't bug me at all. (60 years of building Control Line model airplanes, my band saw, table saw, router...WOOD IS GOOD! )

That is flat ass gorgeous! Stick with the "easy does it" approach- that one is a knockout right from the get go! Congratulations! Grandad must be smiling!

STEELBACK Vicky! NICE! You know, I can't say I've ever seen a 30-31 with splashaprons painted body color, very '32ish, I like that feature. Bob
