I don't get the door handles being so low, but I see a ton of potential in it

Way overboard. The rear door is a bit much.

I didn't care for the handles either. I'd have like the originals on it.

  5. That is one long pickup,I too think the late model door handles don't fit the style. HRP

While *PICKING* it apart is easy ---it *IS* purdy NEAT.....
On the what would i have done differently side , i'd a have TWIN matching doors , that open in the continental way much LIKE the old lincoln 4doors, center out.

  9. You can have either the passenger capacity of a crew cab or the harmony of balanced proportion. You can't have both. I don't get the low door handles either, but I sure appreciate the workmanship and need for passenger room. If you can't bring the whole family, or all your friends, you are leaving out folks who enjoy hotrodding.

I've seen many variations where the old ones have had attempts to create more cab room, never seen one I've liked. I think my issue is that it just wasn't made in that body style in its day....or all executions just don't quite make it...maybe if a well know designer came up with one....but I agree, the doors just don't match the style...

Guessing the door handles are in line with the latch to prevent having to make any angled / curved rod to work in normal location. Almost as much work to do it in a strange way than to do it right. They almost look like tailgate latches.

Stretched trucks are a love it / hate it thing, this one looks OK overall, pillar between doors is pretty large. It will always look like a stretched truck, cause it is.

The best ones Ive seen use a heavily modified shorty rear door similar to late model extended cabs, lot of work to do that fab instead of hanging rear sedan doors.

If youre considering building one, really look at the proportions of late model extended cabs. Cab to bed ratio, rear wheel placement. Front to rear window spacing and pillar size in front and rear of the rear window. Door length plays in there as well.

Somebody put a lot of work into that thing! aside from the low door handles, which they might have a perfectly good reason for doing, I dig it!

Now that old Ford does look good! It has the look of a factory built truck from Ford or one of the conversions for somebody like the railroad or a utility company.

The 'double standard' is alive and well on the HAMB.......and everywhere else people exist.

I can't count the number of posts here that expressed annoyance (at minimum) at the 'looky lous' who go to a car show and are heard to say......"......I don't like how he did (..........)"......and/or "....if I was doing that I would have.........."...........

And then, the posters say..."I didn't build it for him, I built it to please myself". Guess this builder, who didn't ask for opinions, doesn't get the same consideration, huh?
