Hmmm. If women use a mud bath/facial for good complexion, it stands to reason that the body will be mint!

You would be working for ever to get all the mud out of that thing. It would be interesting to see how bad the body is after it was cleaned up.

The car was pushed of a hill in 1964 and sat there ever since in Wa. state. The guy that posted those pics said it was full of parts the pic below was the coolest one. The car was recovered to be sold for scrap.

That driver's door is just toast...have to assume the floorpans aren't much better. Hit it with a steam hose and post some "after" pictures - front end looks like it was in a wreck, perhaps abandoned in a creek?

Lol...he says it's on family land. I'm thinking that once it's cleaned up, there might be some parts there worth more than scrap value right? The young fellow that has it is just wanting to get some money together for another project.

  15. Drop the $400 or so scrap money on it and find out. That's $300 of metal and $100 of mud. headlight rings would be worth a buck if they're inside somewhere -

  16. Two door hardtop stainless is worth some coin....

pressure wash what you have...carefully strip all useable stainless trim and chrome, and post the rest on C.L.

Last Time I saw a '53 Merc HT that looked that bad was in 1956 after we crawled out of my buddy's Mom's pride and joy. I don't remember her lending us any more cars, EVER.

    What bottom of driver's door?

  22. Given what I've spent on glass and stainless for my car, I see a parts car there at least.

This is just my $0.02, but I think you could definitely make a few bucks by selling the stainless and small parts on that auction site, in addition to scrapping all the big stuff.

  29. Actually, no. I've never seen where there's a lot of demand for those to waste much time on it - but who knows what's inside it, the V8 logo looks like older Ford stuff, be nice to find someone left a deuce grille in there or something when they pulled the motor in 1963 to build a hot rod.

  30. I'd agree the trim and remaining glass would be worth some coin.
