Great day yesterday. For once our shitty summer weather played its part. Biggest field of Fuel altereds ever in NZ. Several cars from Australia and Rat Trap from USA as well as several NZ cars. First lot of pics are race cars (or pretending to be).
This is a great start to my miserable wet South Island Sunday. Would have loved to Been there, as it was also raining here yesterday. I did prank a few mates for April fools day, saying I was there, and the sun was out, so I was half right, lol. Glad you guys got a nice day, thanks for the pics, hope to see more.
Thanks for the pics Russell.. Fog lifted and turned into a windless, stinking hot day. Feel for the guy's all suited up in fire gear. Those little Fuel Altereds are insane. Brilliant driving through some scary moments. Huge balls. Poor girl driving the ol' 47 Nash sedan. 1st run with cold track, road tires. Lost it sideways into side of Neil Surtees A coupe. His rear whitewall wore most the brunt. We were standing in the shade of a promo board beside stage queue's, low and behold the ol' Nash is having another crack. She looked over at us and I gave her the wheelspin signal for encouragement. As we got to top of start line viewing down the track. There was the Nash stoved headfirst into the concrete wall way past the finish line. She was ok. I felt guilty as f--k after that.
Was an excellent day Biggest problem was getting parking ended up in the park outside Says something when this appears to be the biggest event of the year Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Great pix. This A coupe is just insane. Best custom A ever? A trendsetter? I can see more of them coming!!! Gary
The old girl didn't run so good this year. Started off with a 19.0 & just got slower as the weekend progressed. Maybe it's time for the flathead 6...........
