There's a 37 4 door Zephyr buried in the desert behind my house. I should ask BLM is I can dig it out.

    Thanks for the compliments!

Next up is molding the rear fenders.

First I found a rusty spot that I forgot (that means I probably decided to do it at a later point in time, and I guess that time has come)

Next up was getting the fender tacked in place.

I want to make the rear and super massive and heavy, so I cut out a 1 inch strip of metal and hammered, stretched and rolled it out to fit in the gap.

Quite a bit of welding later:

After I fitted the fender skirts and burnt a grinder massaging down the welds, I think its getting there:

Very nice! How are you planning to lower it? Also what transmission will you be using behind the v12?

  14. DITTO on all the compliments so far. :) What can I say ? You can read a novel, a book, a western,........BUT !! It doesn't get any better than this thread. AND, it's got pics too !! :D You have a wonderful talent and have inspired many home-shop gear heads. And you have built a marvelous roadster with style. I too applaud you for using the V12.
    All the best, :)

Yeah, sure It'll be lowered. But I want to have the body all welded up before I start working on the mechanics and suspension. I'll use the stock 38 transmission aswell.

The car looks great! What a transformation!

The stock front end is a design classic. It ain't broke so don't need fixing.

    IMHO.

Wow, I love it, I agree on the stock grill and the fact that the top of the A pillar should be straight, it's one detail that's often overlooked and is a dead give away of a cut up car.
I have to say something that bother me on the general look of the car : the trunk is too short, IMO it should start about a foot behind the cab.

alright, i was staying quiet but I think i like the packard grill. the original grill looks good too, but it sits too low on the front of the car. I think that you could do some kind of custom grill and improve the looks,

post a good 3/4 front picture for a photoshop..

this build makes me think of that clark gable packard

I love the proportions. I'm interested in seeing what you choose for bumpers. I didn't see a mention. If there was one, I missed it.

    Keep up the good work.

I dont know if you've studied a Lincoln up close, and looked at the dimensions. Its a very very massive car. It has a total length of 210". Compared to lets say a 36 Fords 183,75 inches its pretty long. All that length has to go somewhere, and I agree that in a shorter car, the trunk should be longer. I spent a lot of time figuring out where to start the trunk, and ended up using the dimensions of a coupe/convertible trunk lid. Also, if it started a foot behind the cab, it would be unbelievable heavy.

Thank you. I've got a set of freshly cromed 39 Zephyr bumpers (the split type), but lately I've been looking at other options. Not sure, but I'll probably go for the 39 bumpers.

Correct, the coupe doors are excatly 10" longer than the sedan doors, measuring a total of 43 9/16".

  25. Loving it all.
You don't need any advise on how it should look.
You have it nailed in one.
