  8. I didn't like it at first but with the paint it really is a stand out custom. Beautiful body work.

Are there any pics of the car's mid life? I was wondering about the cutout over the engine, looks like it was powered by a V-8 for at least part of its life. Ditto with the wheel opening cutouts, bigger tires? Did Timbs modify it over the years, or by others?

The car was about 90 % original when our customer received the car very little was change on it since it was first built in 48. the two body halves were bolted together and access holes were cut in for the rear wheels and the engine bay.
The car still retains a huge majority of the original parts the only major where items were replaced. a few other items needed to be re made but all in all this car still has a lot of the original parts to it. It is getting closer to the completion date.

sometimes it cool to come in to a post late. This is one of those times it cool to see the car in a mag in the 50's then in a field and then almost ready for a mag again. Thats cool. Scott

Starting with a factory car and building a mild or wild custom is one thing. But styling your own car from essentially scratch is a whole 'nother level. I have seen many "owner designed" cars over the years and most make you want to hurl. Famous customizers did it but they had lots of practice and even occasionally turned out things that made you wonder. This guy actually made something worth restoring. Thanks for sharing the progress.

The Timbs Special is back from the upholstery shop and is only needing a few more items left to complete the car. the color is the original color that we could determine. the car had sat in the California desert for years our customer bought it at an auction. I can post some better pics outside when the weather clears up here. we just unloaded the car a little bit ago.
