What's considered normal oil pressure for a 1938 85hp flathead? I have 10psi at idle, goes to 30psi going down the road. A little higher when cold. Readings taken with a mechanical gauge.

Should be good with those readings. The ol' rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1000 RPM.

  3. My oldest Motors Manual only goes back to 1940 .
It reads 30 psi at 30 mph,,,that is for the V8 60,,,and the V8,,,,it was rated at 90 hp.
    Hope this helps .

Sounds about normal to any that I have owned or driven.
