Will a bad condenser cause a no spark condition?

    Absolutely!
I had 3 x new condensers fail out of the box [trying to fire a new engine]
In the end I scavenged the old one out of the trash and the engine instantly started.

You will check and there will be spark [weak] but as soon as there is compression involved it wont spark.

I still remember my grandfather telling me when you replace the points and the engine was running never change the condenser . Chances were pretty good the new one was bad out of the box. Good luck with your no start.

I had a new Delco condenser give me fits about a year ago. Noticed if I manually opened the points with the ignition ON it looked like an arc welder at the contacts. I put an old condenser back in and it ran great after that. Pissed me off to say the least.
