    Hello,
Here are the ones (from the Barona entry list) that I filmed at the last Lions Dragstrip Museum Cacklefest. Steve Gibbs is a wonder at putting on these shows. I just happened to miss the first individual fire ups earlier in the day. My films were from the last cackle, "all at once fire up," That was really something...

(Old HS friend)Jerry Bivens CHECKMATE AA/FD:

Then "Checkmate," the "Sidewinder" by Jack Gillett and the "Magicar" AA/FD by Bill Pitts (check out the exhaust flames, even in the fading daylight):

  7. Thanks church key for info on a great program. I'll be at the Formosa meet a couple of weeks later and can't make two trips down this year
Glad to see Mike Tocco will be there with the altered. Wasn't sure the tram was still active after Roger's accident in the War Horse in Bakersfield a couple of years ago

That place doesn't have the room for all those even just parked on the track let alone the truck and trailers..

Yes I saw that dragster, I don't have any pictures of the car, I am sure the professional photographers will be posting. I first saw Blown Income at Tucson Reunion, in bare aluminum body. The new paint job came out fantastic, car has a great look.

I am glad he made it. Yes the dragster was all metal when you saw it. Next time if you go to Tucson or phoenix reunion, please look us up. I also was in Tucson with my 1962 corvette and the BEELINE DRAGWAY sign, I hope to see you there. thank you for the update on my brothers car. I will look for other posts or pics.

Ok here I go, being bold perhaps. My opinion is that this event was created because the big ugly hand reared up, maybe called, NHRA said no more cackling at CHRR it's unsafe, someone's gonna get hurt. Perhaps someone already got hurt I don't know. Loved CHRR 2015 FE dragsters everywhere cackling away it was great I didn't know where to turn. 2016 rolls around, 25th anniversary of the CHRR oh boy, this is gonna be great. Guess what, kinda a dud! Sooo... with that said congratulations on this new event, hope it grows and grows.

The Syndicate Scuderia, built by Jack Williams who passed away a few years ago. I saw him run this when he was in his 80's at our eighth mile airport drags, and it wasn't static, it was full on! I think it may have been the last time he drove it, his daughter did some passes the last time they brought it out to our races. He was a legend

The famous Hemi-powered Syndicate Scuderia dragster built by Williams to compete in the 1963 Winternationals at California’s Pomona race track is also part of the collection. The internationally recognized drag racers had never heard of Jack Williams and probably didn’t know anything about Vancouver when his dragster unofficially broke the track record and won the Best Appearing Dragster award.

To test the car before going to California, Williams received permission from the City of Vancouver to run the car on Great Northern Way before it was opened to traffic. He would go on to become the first British Columbian to set an international drag racing record speed of 168.22 miles per hour in a standing quarter mile.
