After a long hidden slumber in a an old building in San Bernardino. Parts stolen off of it and almost burnt down with the building. Here she is a real California Custom. Already clocked about 1200 miles on her.

Congratulations @hudsonjoe49...what a beauty indeed...I hope you continue to share the complete journey with this showworthy Custom restoration...just curious about your screename and its relation to this notable name in Hotrod/Custom

It looks sectioned...is that indeed one of its many mods?...tell us more...;)

Not sure about the sectioning, looks to have a few inches just removed from bottom? Trying to compare the proportions to my 51 commodore and still can’t work it out?? Nice car

Check out HRM March of 1959. It is sectioned and channeled.

Looks pretty untouched except for the missing side trim and rear bumper. Any plans to try to recreate that to match it's magazine feature days? Neat car, a channel and section of one of these seems like an extra massive undertaking.

  14. side trim , if you can find some.. and the rear bumper ( ???) back on .. just like when it was featured would be cool.

...This is the feature Magazine mentioned...

  16. I thought it was pretty rare too.
I had one length of side trim, most of the window trim and some other inside pieces that I couldn’t sell dirt cheap. I even tried to give it to the guy on here that sells trim at Carlisle. He wasn’t interested. I ended up giving it to a guy that bought a car from me.

Step-down Hudsons are unibody so would be difficult to channel in the traditional manner.

Never heard of it before, but it sure does look like it means business! How many of the dots can you connect between its coverage in HRM and now?

Pic on 1959 cover says $3000 was lavished on this car. In today's money, that's $28, 934.33. No wonder I can't get ahead on my 27 T. :(
