Rumor had it, A 392 was floating around from patron to patron at a local bar. The rumor was true, and I got ahold of it last week. It's not all there, but it's a good start. The Hemi will be way cooler than the 270 I was going to put in there... My car just became a real hot-rod....

  4. Looks good in there.

Will the 'ol banjo rear handle the torque and shock from a 392 and a stick? I know you won't be able to keep your foot outta it:D What about banzai holeshots:eek:

It would have worked for the 270, but with the 392 i have a lead on a 57' ford 9 inch. This car really is finding all its parts. Its amazing. Today, I met a guy that says hes got Buick drums..

I'm using a 68-70 small-block Mopar bell housing and I have a long, E-body 3 speed behind it. I haven't figured out my spacer plate thickness yet, but I have the 270 automatic spacer plate in there right now which I think is 3/4' thick. I'm also going to turn down a 147 tooth flywheel and slip a 130 tooth ring gear on it. I still need to pick up a clutch, and both the 147 and 130 ring gear though.

I can only imagine what I would come across and get out of the "regulars" if I was even old enough to go into a bar..

so its been awile... but I got some motor mounts fabbed up. It sucks when school, work, and life take time away from rad things.

I started out machining threaded spacers and welded them between two lower link tabs. Then, I cut them up and welded on some DOM tubing to them to give them a pretty shape. oh, I also made a threaded pad to bolt the motor to the pad up from the bottom.

    AWESOME>

Update: I have been really busy with school and work, but have been making it out to the shop once or twice a week... where I'm I at now? Well, I have been working on something special with the cowl and I need to Hang my doors. I don't have a matching set of hinges and the 12-24 screws that hold the doors on are hard to come by. can anyone post a really good picture of the correct set of hinges used on a 26-27 model T coupe or 28-29 pickup cab?

Do you have a picture of those engine mounts bolted up to the block? Just thinking about something that has me wondering... Please post some if you have some!

    Thanks!

Here is the only picture I have of the mounts bolted to the block. I plan on using different hardware, and lock-tightening the two one side, and snugging up the other so I don't break the block tabs. I'm trading the 270 and the three speed for a 4 speed, and I gotta keep those valve covers... They just might look killer chrome with the engine mounts..
