Man still looking.....these are great..... I am so proud of this kid..... he has so much vision and is really smart. I can't even believe it sometimes.

He is the smartest and dumbest kid I know, all at once...... Damn I miss him.

    incredible waste of talent....

...to have to hide works of art like this under the car.

Those are beautiful. At first they look like some kind of giant can openers. :)

great tech, nice work...just one question... shouldn't the spring perch be behind the rear end housing. I've never seen a spring "in front" set-up.

Great work! How do you smooth the welds in those tight spots?

Awesome. thanks again. Im mounting the spring in front of the axle to save some room under the deck lid. Smoothing the tight spot welds was a pain in the ass. i used a combination of carbide burr bits, bull-nose endmills in the angle grinder, roloc wheels... I also had to do some hand-sanding.

That was a pretty common arrangement for track roadsters back in the day. If you have any of the Don Montgomery books, there are numerous photos from the 40s and 50s of cars with that setup.

  25. Not only is this totally coherent, but I'd have to say in my Top 5 favorite Tech threads. Excellent post!! Thank you.

Very nice fab skills. The finished product has the look of a forging or casting........................clever.
