Spent some time today with John Barkley as he parked and prepped his 1968 Winternationals winning '57 210, 2-door in the nostalgia exhibition area at the Winternationals. He recently reacquired the car in time for it to be a centerpiece at Marv Ripes' 80th birthday bash. He's in the process of returning the car to the 1968 specifications. Anyone interested in Junior Stock and fortunate enough to be attending the race in Pomona this weekend should take advantage of the opportunity to see the car and talk with John. His recollection of the building, preparing, and racing the car is as clear as it was on the day he won, 48 years ago. Time marches... c
