I submitted this painting to the art show last Friday, but for some reason it looked like crap when I uploaded it. So with a little tweaking, I am attempting a repost, as last week's show was already archived and I can't correct it. This is my oil depiction of the Norm Wallace Roadster, famed East Coast rod, at Sanford Dragway in '59. I'm always down for some feedback, good, bad or indifferent. If you guys dig it, I'm going to print this one as posters. Jonny
As one who was there and knew the car you did nail it perfect. It looks about 10 in the morning and those two guys just crawled out of their sleeping bags for some well needed solid food and a look at what pulled in. Beautiful!
Very well done. Makes me think I might have made a mistake when I spent the money Mom gave me for drawing lessons on beer. Nah......
Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun with this one. Have to figure out what to tackle next. So many paintings, so little time . Jonny
Maybe one day Mr. Bradstreet will show us his portrait of our local "tin" dealer? He's an auto salvage fellow in Maine. Nice job Jon, stop by anytime the car is in the yard.
You mean this one?: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=159253 I gotta get to the yard soon and see what he's unearthed recently.
