Howdy all... I have been reading the HAMB forum for weeks now... and I think it's time for my intro. I am a 28yr old native Austinite and have been in love with hotrods since I can remember - actually, I think it was the ZZ Top video w/ the 33-34 Ford (if I remember right) and how cool I thought that car was. I grew up with 60's mustangs around and moved on to late model mustangs in my quest for speed and technology. However, I am fascinated with history and the look of old school hotrods. I am doing things a little backwards on my next project. I bought a '50 model flatty and I have '61 buick brakes - That's it for now. I don't know what I am building yet. Like everyone else, I am in love with the model A coupes, but I would love a Tudor or Roadster... I figure it will be my first but it won't be my last. I've also had my eye on a '54 Ford Crestline by my house. I think I could go on, but I don't want to bore you guys to much. From what I have read, everyone on here seems really friendly and outgoing. I am looking forward to meeting some of you at future events. Alec.
Welcome...! Austin is a great place to hang-out with the Kontinentals...! Plan on attending their show next spring (The Lone Star Roundup) and you'll get plenty of ideas! Mark
That's not backwards, I built a car around a crank once. Welcome to the board. Don't worry about what you're gonna build, you'll know it when you see it. The PknBner
Welcome aboard! Post pics whenever the time comes, when you find a vehicle for your flatty! As mentioned, it's not the first time a part came before the car!
Hey, thanks all for the welcome... Wingnutz... I went to the '04 Lone Star Roundup and it was killer! Took a bunch of pictures... it was like I was in heaven. I hadn't been to a show like that before. I'm hoping to have something to drive there next year, or at least get one of my friends to take their cars. Alec.
Welcome!! Sounds like you've got a plan, at least...never fear the outcome...I started with a hubcap! --Melon
