Ok Well its been a bit since I last updated the Build Gambino has been very busy with the body, which in the end turned out to be a total pile of crap. So after repairing the bottom 1 foot all the way around the car, we have finally moved on to building the floor and fire wall, we have the Chassis under the car now and all leveled out.

Wow, what a superb project. That car really looks incredible, good on you for running with it and to Gambino for their craftsmanship. That car will love you forever, for saving it from a life as an awful 80s throwback. Man, that was a bad time in automotive history. Did anything good come out of the 80s?

  3. Zephyrs are even better than my 39 Merc coupe and i'm proud
it was designed by a fellow Dutch man named John Tjaarda

  4. Awesome photos. It looks like progress is being made.

Well they have got the firewall in now and I am on the hunt for a seat for it, once we get the floor completed the build should move forward pretty quickly. I am calling it the SPEED KING, I have an awesome drum gas pedal for it that says speed king on it. trying to decide I might put the shifter up along the center column like a stock one. And then I gotta decide on paint. Thinking 2 kinds of black. or really dark maroon so dark its almost black. Slap in the 450 horse aluminum engine onto that fancy ass art morrison chassis and drive the piss out of it :)

Ok another Update, Found a 1939 Zephyr Seat, took a road trip to a guys house who had all kinda cool stuff laying around flatheads and frames tons of old car parts, anyway he had this seat and so I grabbed it up and took it to my Upholsterer to get all fancied up for the new ride.

The floor is getting very close to done now as you can see. I need to find a set of front and rear fenders and rear skirts for a 38-39 zephyr. The ones that were on it are in pretty bad shape.

Saw the Zephyr when I was at Gambino's for the Gene Winfield class. The work they have been doing is really amazing. That is going to be one cool ride when you get done with it.

Nice car and nice work. . . We have a 39' as well, Alex actually called me a while back for track width specs for your car when you first brought it in, I believe.

I saw the seat you just picked up. That is actually a seat out of a 40' Zephyr.

  18. Excellent work from Gambinos and one very classy car.

There is an article somewhere on the web showing how a complete late model Mark viii drive train and floor pan was grafted into a similar early Lincoln Zephyr unibody. He used almost everything, an unbelievable amount of work went into it.

  30. Wow, the floors look beautiful!
