Great pictures, remember some of those cars, I wished I had taken pictures! Lived in Yonkers back then.
Funny seeing that bug again. It had the Rolls Royce nose on it too. Light blue with pretty much all the 70's paint stuff going on --panels, ribbons, scales. starbursts, cobwebs, etc....It was done in my town, Eastchester, NY, at Bob Russel Auto Body and his son drove it to high school after the show circuit.
Thanx for posting all these great old pix. Gary But... Is this some sort of Liberace gay-mobile? You know what they say, "What has been seen can not be unseen." My EYES!
MAN,This thread takes me back! I went as a kid back in the early-mid 70's and have a bunch of pics that I took..I'll scan and post them as soon as I lay my hands on them..The Red Baron and the Mummy Machine(427 Ford SOHC Powered!)were two of my favorites..Thanks for the pics guys!
Hey Rich, I painted & lettered the "Mummy Case" dragster. If you scroll down to "Groucho's" part 3 you can see my name on the showcard. Thanks for saving history.
"J", I saw your name on the show sign,in another picture I have of it. I just saw it on one of my pic cds that I burned and I'll Email it to ya!!!...........
Next time a twenty or thirty year old makes fun of an imperfect car on here make 'em look at some of these "show" cars from back then ,whew! Was neat to see the HAMB's Johnny Fast's old jet powered Comet, he actually drove it...RIP.
