Hello,

In staying with the “red/green” holiday theme, this chopped Model A Sedan Delivery would have been a great Christmas present for the two brothers. The build of this style of Model A would mean the changing direction from drag racing to hot rod building during the recovery time.

If we had built this particular chopped Model A, it would have been my brother’s daily driver. If it was set up like we wanted, there would have been provisions for our two long boards on custom made racks, to attach to the provided drip rails as the interior was quite short. The cooler would have taken up a lot of space in the back and it would have been quite cramped sleeping or camping inside on our long road trips.

But, it is a chopped Model A Sedan Delivery that would have satisfied the needs of finishing our first choice of hot rods, a Model A Coupe. This time, it would be at least a dual purpose hot rod with twin Paxton centrifugal superchargers, a C&O Stick Hydro and A/C for those long cool surf trips. There might have been, even the long inland road trips for making some runs at the dry desert and/or the salt flats.

If that road were to have taken place, these stories would certainly would have taken a different aspect of hot rodding or drag racing.

{ Jnaki } I always like you stories. I've had my sedan delivery since 78. { an old 60's Hot Rod } The wife and I would take it to the beach, and used it as our motel or camper back then. I made the seats to fold flat foward. But you had to put your feet to the front. But we were small, and young back then. lol I still sleep in it at some Rod Runs when I camp out with friends. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Ron......

 

First off,...I'd like to thank everyone who posts on the Friday Art Show, you all make it what it is,always look forward to it ..........reading the "Ugly" car post,...don't think those sharknose Grahams are all that bad lookin...

 

Damn Bob, that's a great piece of work. I missed last week but this makes up for it.

I'm with you Rusty1. { That's a great sketch. Sam } I think the sharknose Grahams, Lincoln Zephyr's, and late 30' Fords make some of the coolest Kustoms! .
